Hey ya'll!
Here we are on Friday, Sept. 19th, one week ago today we were beginning to prepare for the arrival of Ike. Now, 7 days later, Houston is coming back to life ever so slowly. From what reports now say, 46% of us in the Houston / Galveston areas now have power back, 54% unfortunately still do not. They're hanging in there & I'm blessed by the incredible attitudes & patience of so many we know that are still awaiting power. We've been amazed to hear of so many "neighbor helping neighbor" stories from different parts of the city, what a great thing! So many volunteers have come in to help & serve the many people who have such huge needs, Lord bless them. We pray that wondeful verse from Proverbs would be true for those who are continuing to serve so sacrificially, "...he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed." Prov. 11:25
We're waiting to hear about the start of school again...we may or may not be starting on Monday, it's yet to be determined. Whether or not our school district starts, I've decided we're starting here! We're getting into a schedule, even if it means a little "home-schooling" for awhile. I know Dawson will be thrilled. (:

These are the people who were sadly, very affected by this storm, as you can see. Please continue to pray for them & for God's provision, healing & rebuilding as time goes on.
