If you're under the age of 18, live in the Houston area, and been blessed to have "power" on most of this past week, chances are you've actually had quite a fun time off from school during this post hurricane clean up, like an added on week of summer bonus! But alas, all good things must come to an end (I'm smiling as I say that).
I think most people share my heart in feeling the need to get back into a schedule & routine around here, or at least as much as possible.
Our kids have kept themselves (& us) quite busy though! Gracie has cut her hair 2 times now (Lord help us), I've stopped counting the number of times she's got into my make up & lotion, there's brand new chalk art drawings all over the once blank walls of the hallway (oh my), there were 2 small "floods" in the upstairs bathroom this week, not due to Ike but due to "tikes," I'll bet you can guess which dynamic duo in the family got the water running... I've put a stop to ALL "gymnastics & stunts" taking place off the stairs, couch & beds and continue to thank God that we have not yet had to make an emergency room visit. The ducks of the neighborhood pond have probably been fed more this week than ever before, they're full. Dawson has about rode his bike into the ground up & down our street, & has enjoyed every moment of "house hopping" between here & the neighbors.
But the big news is this - school is soon to be back in session! Our Cy-Fair district is planning to resume classes on Tues., Sept. 23rd. Other districts of course will take much longer, but we know they're working as hard as they can to get things back together for our children.
Life continues on...
I am glad that through Ike, not only have we had this great "bonding" experience with friends & neighbors, but I've also become an "expert" texter, ha! I got a quick lesson from the teenager around the corner, thanks Nicole, & am now becoming more & more proficient at texting, miracles still happen today.
This techno generation is so out of my league, I'm doing all I can to keep up with my 6 yr. old!
Hoping you all are feeling BLESSED today!

OMG Debbie,
I pray daily for your strength that all mothers need. I saw Noah Sunday and I would've never known. But as you know, boys will be boys. Dear Gracie taking interest in Cosmetology, beautiful:)
I must commend you, because when I see you, you are always full of God's Joy.
Love you all,
Charyna
