It's Still Raining!

Is it really only 1:10 pm??? Feels like it should be midnight! We're beginning to get some cabin fever around here...winds are beginning to die off, but the rain continues. Dawson took off for the neighbor's house to play, we're trying to keep kids "entertained" without power!
Still have water, flood warnings continue, lots of other parts of the city have seen pretty major devastation, so we're feeling like things are fairly stable around here for now.
We hear a cold front is coming in tomorrow - that's great news without A.C. - but, it's bringing more rain, not good.
All church services are of course cancelled for tomorrow, don't know about school & other things yet. They say power may stay off for some time. We'll see how long we can endure it before we need to "jump ship." 4 million people with cabin fever might start to get kind of messy!
thanks so much for your calls, text messages & continued prayers for our city!
we'll stay in touch...

n Fever activities for children( and parents too)
1.Have chariot races- pull each other on sheets throughout the house
2. Let Gracie and Noah wash dishes in a sink of water( that is if you have running water right now :))
3. Roll up newpaper or tissue paper and have a paper fight
4.Night time, play flash light chase. Using a flash light have the children stand in a dark side of the room, then when they see the light of the flash light, have them, run, hop, crawl, walk backward, etc. to that corner of the light.
5.make shadow pictures with the flash light on the walls, comparing who is smallest, tallest, etc.
6. Go outside and see if you can see the stars, thank God for His beauty in the sky
7. Our family favorite,Adriana's that is, play the rhyming game- say a word then everyone can think of as many words that rhyme as they can.
8. make sock puppets with old socks and have a puppet show
9. Use the back of large rolls of wapping paper for art paper, supply markers and crayons, etc. and let them make a beautiful mural for the wall.
LOVE YOU GUYS>>>>>>>>>>>>
